Abama Golf & Spa Resort presents a world class destination spa with unparalleled facilities in a unique ocean-front environment. African influences and scents of herbal flower essences complement the power of the ocean, the healing qualities of plants, the sounds of tropical birds and the warm rays of the sun in this island sanctuary dedicated to quiet repose and total indulgence.
Abama Spa is situated across three levels and accessed through a series of outdoor staircases bordered with lush greenery and cascading fountains. A full range of spa treatments, classes and wellness programmes are offered in this 26,500 square foot (2,462 square meter) space with natural aromatherapy products and locally sourced products from the island including bananas and aloe vera.
Sixteen lavishly outfitted treatment rooms include three themed VIP suites: The Colonial Suite equipped with its own Jacuzzi, private sauna and outdoor terrace with sea views. The Safari Suite is decorated with a jungle theme and also features its own outdoor terrace overlooking the sea with private showers and two massage beds for couples’ treatments. The Oriental Suite features gold leaf motifs and offers a cocoon-like retreat for anyone wishing to enjoy the ultimate relaxation of Abama Spa’s East meets West treatments, such as Samunprai or Thai Massage, in intimate and peaceful surroundings.
The Meditation Room offers an ideal environment for yoga and meditation classes and indoor Thai Massage. One of the Spa’s best kept secrets and features a large bay window that overlooks patios and cascading fountains for an unmatched ambiance and the soothing sound of water during treatments. A Garden Spa relaxation area offers a Garden Cabana: an outdoor massage area set upon raised wooden floorboards with a thatched roof and Egyptian curtains to allow sea breeze and sunlight within the privacy of white Egyptian cotton screens.

471 rooms and suites feature design elements that incorporate the use of materials indigenous to the island and African elements and artefacts with the principles of Feng Shui to create a truly unique oasis of luxury and tranquillity. Tagor’ is a new experience in luxury travel: an entire row of luxury rooms and suites in the Villas reserved for adults. Situated in a lush tropical garden with access to a private pool, Tagor’ is a secluded paradise where guests may experience the very best that Abama has to offer in complete tranquillity. As well as enjoying all the amenities of our Villas, Tagor’ guests can take advantage of a range of exclusive added benefits, including a villa attendant on call from 8.00am to 11.00pm throughout their stay.
A Moroccan-style citadel forms the main building and is positioned facing the Teide volcano to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. A “gateway to the sun” offers magnificent views of the sunset across the sea. Rooms are situated on various levels leading down the mountainside providing a maximum number of guests with sea views. All rooms have balconies and private terraces that overlook the pools, gardens and lush landscape.
Colours have been selected to represent and balance the five Chinese elements. The red of the buildings is designed to contrast the green vegetation and the azure water. A Koi Carp pool is home to sixty-five vibrantly coloured carp in hues of gold, brilliant orange, yellow, white and blue.
